pre-design|FEASIBILITY
Time Frame: 1-2 Weeks
Before we start to design a project, it's prudent to perform a feasibility study. In this effort, we examine your desired project in relation to the zoning ordinance, deed restrictions, site constraints and your desired budget. Some of the things that can restrict your project include: impervious cover, building cover, FAR, trees of protected size, easements, neighborhood plans, zoning restrictions,, building codes, floodplain, etc.
While impossible to be exhaustive at this stage, the study can lead to the discovery of challenges earlier in the project. Information is paramount to the accuracy of the feasibility study. The study can only be as accurate as the information provided. Items that are important to the study include an understanding of your desired project, an accurate survey, photos of existing conditions, locations of tree 19" in diameter or larger (and trees desired to be preserved), and deed restrictions/covenants,
Only after we have a thorough understanding of the property, the restrictions and your desired goals, can we begin the design process.
