In the summer of 2014,  Davey McEathron Architecture was founded upon the idea of the architect as artist, collaborator and craftsperson. With an equal amount of space dedicated to a design studio and a fabrication studio, DMA positioned itself in a unique location between design, testing, and realization. DMA takes pride in unique solutions and fine detailing - always perfecting, learning and reinventing. The firm has become well known for its vibrant interiors, creative geometries and elegant use of raw materials that exemplify the hand of the craftsperson and speak to the unique mix of cultures found in Central Texas.

In 2024, after growing the firm to a team of 13, Davey and his wife, Rebecca, decided to scale back the architecture firm output and focus on bespoke projects, as well as design collaborations with like minded folks. They set up another company called, Rock Paper Build, to explore construction and development. Their first foray into product development is with Clay Imports - a local, Austin tile company. DMA has been honored to appear on Austin Home Magazine’s “Best Architects” list for four consecutive years—alongside our peers and design heroes. We’ve also been fortunate to receive numerous design awards and to be featured in publications such as Dwell, Texas Architect, Austin Home, Eastside, Grand Designs, Architects of the Southwest, and The Well-Designed Accessory Dwelling Unit, among others.
